Happy New Year! My 2009 Aspirations.
To everyone, one and all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
One thing that I started was never to make ‘resolutions’ – ..I made that resolution in 2003.. – but instead place little bridges along my journey that I aspire to cross by the end of the year. These felt more inspiring, reachable, less pressured & more often than not, I achieved them too!

On the first day of the new year, I like to sit down and reflect over the time past and think ahead to the future, often writing and doodling on a piece of paper while listing…
My 2009 Aspirations
- Write submissions to ZE Blog more regularly
- Target of 2-3 post per week, minimum
- Increase RSS Subscribers
- Target of 2,500 more by end of 2009. SUBSCRIBE NOW and see if I manage it! ;)
- Start the “NEW” Business
- Progress Photography both personally and within Zen Elements Ltd
- Training & Health
- Wall Climbing
- Martial Arts
- Cycling
- Swimming
- Return to Japan with Maya for Christmas & New Year, 2010 and so quickly following…
- Learn a more comfortable level of Japanese!
These are ‘mine’ though. How about you? What are your top Aspirations and/or Resolutions for 2009?

Thanks for reading in 2008 & hope to see you even more in 2009!

I don’t make resolutions either but I have to work off all the chocolates and sweeties I gorged over the festive season so – more swimming, more paddling and more salads – ;o( Happy 2009!
At the moment mine is to stay afloat this year. If we manage that I’ll be sane at least! Sounds awful but when things are down the only way is up, right? :)
@Marylin – Up is a good way to be looking, keep looking and I’m sure your feet will take you there :)
@Smallbear – Health & Fitness is a popular thing appearing on New Years Resolutions and I’m sure you’ll make your desired waistline again :P Keep up with the paddling and if you know of any spare kayaks going, let me know ;)
Have a great 2009, you two.
Happy New Year Zen Elements!
I dont tend to make resolutions, but my aim is to blog more. And get more clients who actually want a website, and want to use a CMS themselves!!
Also I want to write more plugins for Dreamscape CMS, and maybe get the proprietory rights to the Open Source, as my friend Ryan is finding it difficult to balance with his own work, such is life.
I would also like to collaborate on a Social project, and write some iPhone apps i have ideas for (though, im thinking i could do with an iPhone too).
Hi Ian
Blogging is certainly one of my main aims for this year. I have always wanted to write more and what better to write about, than the stuff I deal with each day, OTHER than Coffee!
I wouldn’t mind a similar pull of those suggested clients though.
Lets see how 2009 goes though and if you ever want to cross paths a little on a project, feel free to give me a shout.

Happy New year to all of you..
